You Want IT When?

It was 2 weeks ago when I decided to create this blog.  I’ve thought about getting some of my ideas and practices out there for a while, but I never felt like writing a book, though I was urged by a good friend of mine, and the idea of submitting articles to magazines never appealed to me.

The motivation came a little over 2 weeks ago when I was researching information on project management on the web.  The department I’m currently working in has been holding meetings on things we can do to improve the practices in the department.  While I have ideas, I thought it would be a worthwhile exercise to take a look at what others are doing.

“You want it when?” you ask yourself while attempting to suppress your inner urge to shout.  It’s the reflexive question that wells up inside as the sales and marketing team demands another impossible release date for your next project.   As you walk back to your cubicle after the meeting, you become overwhelmed with a sense of gloom and foreboding.   “Not again!” you exclaim.  “Don’t we ever learn?” you ask yourself as if you expected a different answer after hearing “No” one hundred times before.  It’s like being a character in an Adam Sandler movie titled, “101 First Projects.”
